Henrike Lode is the CEO of Lohika, a small game studio currently developing the award-winning puzzle adventure Machineers. She received her M.Sc. in Game Design from ITU in 2012, is now teaching other students, furthermore board member at IGDA Denmark and co-organiser of the Nordic Game Jam.

Educational games, games for purpose, edutainment and gamification - those words are red flags for most indie developers because they translate to “boring” “crappy gameplay” “low production value” or plain “bad game”. After hearing this talk you will understand why this is not the only way games with a purpose have to be, why every good game is kind of a learning game and what amazing things can be taught with games and how.
